Morning Star School . The best tradition they say lives as it demonstrate its ideologies and values. It has been an age old tradition for the Morning Star School in Accra to hold annual intercessory prayers to support its final year students.
As this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is underway, the Morning Star School in Accra continues its yearly tradition of holding an intercessory prayers to provide spiritual support and encouragement to students.

The school’s management recognizes the importance of mental well-being and believes that this practice amplifies positivity and enhances focus during the examination period.
Raymond News was at the Morning star school at Cantonments in Accra ahead of today’s BECE paper, Wednesday-9th August 2023. The visit to the school was to share in the tradition of prayer which has been the norm of the school since its inception about some 50 years ago.
Amazingly, the visit to school reveals that, the intercessory prayers which has become a significant event in the school’s calendar, brings together final year students, management of the school, and parents in a collective effort to foster an environment of tranquility and optimize the student’s mindset before the set off for the examinations.

Led by renowned men and women of God together with the school chaplains, the prayer session involves various religious activities such as singing, scripture readings and prayers.
The school’s management believes that such holistic initiatives foster a sense of belonging, encourage resilience, and boost overall confidence levels. By bringing everyone together in a serene yet inclusive atmosphere, the intersection prayer cultivates a positive energy that extends beyond the prayer session, positively impacting students’s mental well-being throughout the final exam period.

In an interview with Raymond News, a director of the school, Ms. Nana Yaa Siriboe explained how the prayer session camp into being.
She said, “My mother the late Ms. Esme Praah Siriboe was a staunch Christian and believed in prayers. We have also continued with that and we have accepted that, before the children go for the exams, we seek the face of the Lord to serve as a form of encouragement so that they go confidently to write and come out successful.”
Ms. Nana Yaa Siriboe stressed that, Morning Star School is known to be a school where prayer is a central and scriptures taught.
Again, Ms. Siriboe was optimistic that, the practice has helped in shaping and building the school and as well, has helped the students to appreciate that, with God all things are possible.
One unique development observed by Raymond News was the final booster for the students where parents and management of the school cue to give the children their final blessings and well wishes before getting to the exams centre.

As the exams is underway and excepted to end on Friday-11th August 2023, the Morning Star School once again set an example by prioritizing the overall well-being of its students. The intercessory prayers serves as a powerful reminder to the school community that success extends beyond academic achievement and encompasses mental, emotional, and spiritual growth.
