Calvary Methodist Church. The vibrant and diverse culture of Ghana came alive in full display as the Calvary Methodist Church at Adabraka in Accra organized a delightful cultural event in its church auditorium, demonstrating Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and traditions. The event, held on 24th August 2023 forms part of the Church’s Calvary Week Celebration.
The event brought together participants under one umbrella and were thrilled with lively presentations.
According to the Calvary Methodist Church, events such as this, is one of the surest ways to celebrate Ghana’s rich culture and heritage as well as promoting peace and unity among the diverse cultural groups. Again, it will also serve as the platform for the larger community to appreciate the nation’s diverse traditions.

The Calvary Methodist Church played a crucial role in bringing the event together while acknowledging the need to preserve the Ghanaian culture and the influence of religion on Ghanaian society.
The event commenced between the early hours of 6:30 pm on Thursday night, as the audience who were mainly members of the Calvary congregation were conveyed into a world of vibrant colors and rhythmic beats. On the bill for the night’s events were a variety of performances, such dance, indigenous traditional music, traditional attires, which won the admiration of the audience and left them yearning for more.
Also, the sound of drums bells through the air as the creative drummers on the night showcased their drumming prowess, offering a fascinating display of the indigenous traditional Ghanaian rhythms. Interestingly, some of the regions served the audience with some energetic dances as they dressed up in beautifully crafted traditional Ghanaian attire. Indeed, their performance epitomized the beauty of Ghanaian culture.
The event also celebrated the various ethnic groups in Ghana, with participants representing various tribes and regions, including the Greater Accra, Northern, Volta, Eastern, Western, Central, Upper East, Upper West, Brong Ahafo and Ashanti.

Each region showcased the unique aspects of their cultural heritage by making presentations on the type of songs, dances, lifestyle, traditional wear, landmarks and many interesting points of focus which has been handed over from generations to generations.
As the night’s event was coming to a close, one key development noticed by Raymond News, was an appreciable level of unity and pride among participants as each participated group demonstrated that none of the cultures is inferior but rather superior.
This beautiful cultural display initiated by the Calvary Methodist Church at Adabraka in Accra not only celebrate Ghana’s rich heritage but also promotes and foster a deeper understanding for the diverse traditions that make the country Ghana unique.
Addressing the gathering on the night, the committee leaders of the Calvary Week Celebration expressed their joy over the success of the event while thanking members of the congregation for their immense support and time which made the event successful.
